Famously known for touring with Coolio and his guest appearances on the late rapper's hipster web series "Cookin' With Coolio," heavy groovin' sax virtuoso Jarez has taken on two spot-on nicknames in recent years: "Mr. Sexy Saxy" and "Mayor of J Funk City." On his dazzling, relentlessly rhythmic latest album 421 - cleverly named for his birth date - he embodies both monikers full force, creating his most personal expressions yet via a powerful blend of heart-tugging melodies, adventurous sonic textures and tight, propulsive beats, complemented by some sweet romantic gestures. Along for the spirited, high-octane jam are a batch of guest smooth jazz stalwarts, including Grammy nominated pianist Nathan Mitchell, trumpeter Lin Rountree, guitarist Patrick Yandall and #1 Billboard Smooth Jazz charting bassist Julian Vaughan.
